Steve Sheasby here!
What started me in creating art? Well it’s a very long story so here goes, I left school at 15 in the early sixties and all I wanted to do was go to art school which was something I was good at and wanted to develop my creative skills. However my father being salt of the earth said I’d got to get a proper job and that was the end of that!
I ended taking an engineering apprenticeship and subsequently enjoyed a very successful career in Computers.
I met my second wife in 2001 and she happened to work at Stourbridge College and I had told her that I still harboured ambitions re developing my artwork, so she bought me a water colour evening course at the college which I studied for 4 years. I started to produce work around that time.
When I retired in 2014 I went back to college and attained a Foundation certificate in Art and design which led to a HND in fine art. I have produced work consistently since then always looking to move my work forward.
The last few years has seen my work focus on portraiture in oils and acrylics. I’m currently working with the Foundry artist group based in Bewdley were we meet every Friday exploring different themes and techniques.
