A Celebration of Local Creativity

The Kings Heath Art Market is a monthly event celebrating the vibrant creative community in and around Kings Heath, South Birmingham. Organised by United Artists of South Birmingham (UASB), the market offers a warm and welcoming space for artists and makers to showcase and sell their original, handmade work.

Each month brings together a changing mix of painters, illustrators, photographers, ceramicists, printmakers and mixed media artists. The focus is always on originality and artistic quality. We curate the market to make sure there is a varied balance of styles, voices and approaches.

Whether you are an established artist or just starting out, the Kings Heath Art Market is a place to connect, share and grow.

Who we welcome as stallholders

The Kings Heath Art Market is for local artists who want to share and sell their work. We lean towards visual artists and creative handmade work because this keeps the market focused and distinct from other events in the area.

We try to maintain a good balance of styles and experience levels, and we welcome new and emerging artists. When we are full or when someone’s work is a better fit for another event, we signpost artists to other local markets that support makers and crafts.

Our aim is to grow a supportive art community in Kings Heath and to keep the market a place where artists can thrive.

Who Is It For?

We welcome applications from local and regional artists and makers working in all 2D and 3D art forms including:

What the artists are saying…

“Last summer a fellow artist told me that a new art market had started up monthly. I applied and tried it twice in the autumn. I covered my stall fee and really enjoyed it. Now the venue has changed, and when the market reopened in the spring, I did much better, selling a couple of pictures. I trust that this is going to get better as more people learn about it. The organisers put a huge amount of effort into the success of this venture, I am so impressed, including standing outside with flyers telling folk about the art market – and they stream in.

I had already decided that selling in person is the way I want to go, so this is exactly what I wanted. I am really looking forward to this Saturday’s market.”

— Catherine Holland

“I was so pleased I chose Kings Heath Art Market to launch my new limited edition series of original pastel paintings. Not only did I sell 25% of the series, but also sold other work as a result. It was good to chat to buyers and catch up with fellow artists. A café onsite was an added bonus. The team do a great job promoting the event and attracting visitors. It’s a busy market!.”

— Brian Prangle

"The Kings Heath Art Market was such a joy to be part of – relaxed, well-organised, and in a beautiful, light-filled venue. I felt truly seen as an artist, with visitors engaging deeply with my work. I even sold two large pieces! Huge thanks to the UASB team for making it all run so smoothly."
